Kabir Das ke Dohey - 9

साँई इतना दीजिए जामें कुटुंब समाय ।
मैं भी भूखा ना रहूँ साधु न भुखा जाय॥
Sai etna dejiye, jamey kuthumb sahai.
Mai bhe bhukha na rahu, sadhu na bhukha jai

kabir ke dohey Literal meaning: Kabir request God to give only as much so that he can feed his family and if any guest comes he should be able to feed him too.

Explanation: You should only have what you need, no use having too much. If all of us start following this philosophy, there will be no shortages of items. In the present world, many people just due to greed, accumulates the things with them. Since there is limited resource available, therefore other is not able to get it. As Mahatama Ghadhi has also said 'Earth has enough to satisfy everybody need, but not everybody greed'.

Once upon a time a king became very happy with the farmer and said 'What ever distance on earth, you can cover by walking will be yours. The condition is that, you will start with sun rise and return on the same place by the sun set.'
The farmer started in the morning and went very long distance and almost disappeared. Then he started coming back and by the sun set he reached the starting point. But he was very much exhausted and after reaching the point he died.
Finally he required only 6 feet earth.

Saint Kabir said this dohey to discourage the greed.
