General Description :
Cardamom is the ground seed of a tropical fruit in the ginger family known as Elettaria cardamomum. They are light green in color, oval shaped
and their length varies between 1/4 and 1inch.
There is one more variety available known as Amomum cardamomum, which are dark brown in color, oval shaped
and their length varies between 1/2 and 1.5 inch. This variety is mostly used as spice during cooking
Cardamom has a strong, unique taste, with an intensely aromatic fragrance.

Cardamom are mostly distributed from Asia and Australia (India, Malasia, Sri Lanka etc).
Uses :
- Mouth freshener after food.
- Flavoring for Coffee and Tea.
- As a
spice cardamom in many recipes
(spice cardamom is a part of Garam Masala).
- Cardamom is often included in Indian sweet dishes .

Oil of cardamom seeds is also used in perfume.
Medicinal Uses :
- Cardamom is used to treat infections in teeth, gums and throats. (used in few toothpaste for this purpose)-
chew cardamom seeds as a tooth cleaner.
- Used in making the medicine for digestion problems like constipation, dysentery etc. Small amount (1/2 of tea spoon) of grounded cardamomum, if taken
with worm water helps in preventing the stomach-ache.

1/2 tea spoon grounded cardamomum seeds taken with honey helps in reducing Cough and Cold.
